5 BERRY-LICIOUS Smoothie Recipes

I am a smoothie fanatic! Around 3 o’clock when I used to reach for an afternoon cup of coffee, I am now hovering over my fridge, trying to decide what ingredients I can scrounge to throw in a blender. I have realized that food gives me an extra boost of energy that is much more steady than a caffeine high. The one kind of fruit that I always have stocked in my refrigerator (or freezer) is berries. I am a firm believer that berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries) are among one of the worlds healthiest foods. Why? Because they are packed full of nutrients, vitamins, fiber, and most importantly they are incredibly rich in anti-oxidants and phytochemicals; all compounds that our bodies are screaming for! Not to mention, they are low in sugar and carbohydrates unlike most other fruits. Below are my top five ‘Pinterest Inspired’ favorite smoothie recipes.

Hi Kacia! I just found your blog because your sister posted a link on Facebook today! I’m from Champaign and I’ve known Shauna since I hired her as a lifeguard at Crystal Lake Pool :)
Anyhoo, my point was to ask you if you’ve heard of Shakeology and what your thoughts were in using it as a supplement in our daily nutrition? The nutrients and superfoods that you list as go-to staples in our diets, are found in Shakeology. I just wanted to know your thoughts on it, since everything I’ve read so far on your blog supports the clean eating and nutrition that I support, along with my daily Shakeology:) Thanks!

    Hi Katie,

I love Shakeology! It is a great product and I am extremely picky and precise about that kind of stuff… My whole family back home uses it as their breakfast and I always end up sneaking some in my suitcase to take back to California with me. Great to have on hand as a meal replacement or snack in between whole food meals; )
